The former president of a defunct nationwide work-at-home-scheme called Club Freedom has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for conspiracy to commit mail fraud. Neil Telafor, 57, of Kresgeville, Monroe County, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. Middle District Senior Judge Malcolm Muir, who also imposed a three-year term of supervised release. For now, Telafor is responsible for $143,604 in restitution because his co-defendant, Dayton Sauerman, formerly of State College, is believed to be in China with his wife, a native of that country. |
