| Companies sponsoring work at home ads may require consumers to pay for instructions or tutorial software. Consumers are more likely to lose time, energy and money than to get help earning income. Keep that in mind before you respond to any solicitation to start your own home-based business. If you can’t resist a solicitation for a home-based business, at least do your homework. Ask the company to give you a written list of the tasks you are required to perform. In addition, find out whether you will be paid a salary or commission, and get as many details as possible about who will pay you, when the first paycheck will be issued and how payments are calculated. |  |
