| You?ve probably seen the introduction of the newest blogging and social networking service — BlogRush. The website, released less then 48 hours ago, is the brain child of the famous Internet entrepreneur John Reese. It is purported to be ?the fastest and easiest way to drive a flood of targeted readers to your blog.? How does the service work? Their video will give you a somewhat succinct answer to lot of question about how the process. BlogRush is a new way to syndicate content across blogs. You put a widget on your website to display text box ads and for each impression you deliver from your site, your ad would be displayed on other sites who use the BlogRush widget. This concept is similar to the old banner exchange networks, where you receive exchange credits for showing banners on your website, which were ?cashed in? by showing your banner across other sites in the network. To learn more, click on the BlogRush tab located at the lower, right-hand corner of this display. |

The Retiring Boomers poll released yesterday by RBC Financial Group finds 53% of Canadians still in the workforce fret they won’t have enough money to retire. By contrast, only 36% of retirees worry about money. Pollsters Ipsos-Reid interviewed 2,037 Canadians between 50 and 69 with household assets of at least $100,000. As reported here, most all of us are familiar with various Nigerian financial scams and know not to even give them the time of day. But this scam was different. It claimed to offer a chance to make easy money working at home as an accounts receivable agent for Arcadia-based Ashley Furniture, the largest furniture maker and retailer in the country. All the scammer wanted was for an unsuspecting victim to accept delivery by United Parcel Service of a cashier?s check or money order. Then the victim would deposit the Ashley Furniture customer?s payment in his/her account and send a check of their own to the Ashley payment center, less 10 percent as payment for their services. |

| For several years, the General Services Administration has urged other federal agencies to set up telecommuting programs. Now, the GSA plans a big push on its home turf. Many federal managers have shown little enthusiasm for the program, in part because they are concerned about data security, equipment and software costs, office staffing, and employee productivity. About 4 percent of the federal workforce telecommutes, the GSA estimates. Studies have found that telecommuting does not reduce employee productivity or the quality of work. At the GSA, telework programs are “structured and disciplined,” with employees signing contracts that can include fixed working times. |

SeoZ has written a terrific article entitled “11 Free Ways To Promote Your Site/Blog”
It’s worth reading in its entirety but the section I find most applicable to spinoff.com is
Reciprocal linking is a good way to promote your site and its free ;). Make a page on your website or blog offering a link exchange service. Remember these key points when doing Link Exchange.
- Always link exchange with sites that are related to your site market,
- Consider the amount of links on the page where your link will be placed,
- Number of clicks from homepage to access the page where your link is located,
- Use different Titles for link exchange,
- Use your internal pages too for link exchange,
- See the site basic data in Google - Index page and Inlinks.
I will point you to my nav bar located across the top of this page. Notice “Exchange Links”. I have been doing that for a good while. The concept is simple. If judged appropriate, I will publish an article from you in return for my article shown on your site.
Just give me a hollar.

| Before deciding whether to allow one or more employees to work off-site, review the positive and negative aspects of both options. Many employees who are given the opportunity to work at home are more dedicated and productive because they’re so appreciative that they can meet both professional and personal needs on their own terms. Unfortunately, some employees work best under supervision. It’s often easier to control operations when everyone is present in the same office. After you’ve reviewed the pros and cons of allowing your highly valued employee to work from home, you may want to develop a written policy to protect yourself. Regardless of your decision, the issue will likely come up again.

It’s a new phenomenon. “Helicopter” baby-boomer parents hovering around firms’ human relations offices, quick to sing the praises of their kids or complain if they don’t get a good performance review. When boomers’ children were very young, primary and secondary school was where they hovered. Now they’ve switched to the university and the workplace. One thing boomers learned as they populated the workplace was how tough it could be to get ahead. Their generation grew up questioning authority, but found out pretty quickly that the people who employed them wanted none of that and, given the population bulge, could replace them easily if they rocked the boat. |
