Collaboration A Viable Option For A Work At Home Enterprise

Working and living together may not be the perfect arrangement for most married couples. But it works for these four work-from-home business owners, The quartet had sold their wares at craft shows, but there were often not enough tables to display all their wares. Crafter’s Four sells products that all four produce. Charles Combs makes wooden lighthouses that can be lighted electrically or with batteries, or not at all. Combs also carves small animals. Sally Combs sews and makes stuffed animals, tote bags, aprons and foam-covered foot stools with certain NFL team names and logos. She also needlepoints with plastic canvas to make tissue boxes, hot air balloons with chimes, wind socks with ribbons, and covered door stops. The couples met in 2000 when all four worked at a local grocery store, and they later lived at nearby condos in Frederick. Read more »

Smaller Companies Using Work At Home And Telecommuting Employees

On the cutting edge of employee productivity, smaller companies are embracing the concept of telecommuting and work at home employees. One reason is that those folks are getting IT support with the latest mobility technology, networking equipment, and software. According to K.C. Jones at InformationWeek, a new study by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) indicates that a a significant number of employees and small and midsize companies are not in the office everyday. Nearly three out of four companies with fewer than 500 employees have at least one telecommuter who works from home at least once a week, representing 7% of the workforce. One of the benefits of working for a smaller outfit is that they can have more flexibility to meet the needs of individual employees. And as the technology becomes more mainstream, they can also afford to support that flexibility. Alterations And Monogramming Viable Work At Home Businesses

Fast Fit: Easy Pattern Alterations for Every Figure According to the embroidery trade website Impressions, the number of people considering starting a work at home decorating business mirrors the growth in home-based businesses in general. Monogramming and personalization are hotter than ever. Because consumers have an expansive view of what constitutes monogramming, and because many in the business of monogramming love it, you need to explore how to approach this old subject with a fresh look. Digital fabric printing allows you to create a fun stock of colorful prints in geometric and other whimsical shapes. Family Paralegal

We are looking for an experienced paralegal to prepare uncontested divorce cases in North Carolina. Most cases involve no real property or children. The cases are also filed by parties that are working together amicably to end their marriage. No cases involve protection orders, child neglect/abuse, etc. Each case is for a couple that simply wishes to end their marriage as economically as possible and without an attorney, although some may seek legal advice before or during the process. Further, the parties have already agreed on everything (e.g. division of property/debts and child support/custody, if applicable).

The process would involve you receiving a questionnaire completed jointly by the husband and wife. Based upon their answers you would complete the required pleadings and any known local forms. If clarification is needed regarding answers or incomplete responses, you would be required to draft one email requesting the necessary information.

You will work anonymously and never be required to contact the client directly, not even via email. You would only draft emails that I would send to the client. This is truly a 100% ?back-office? operation on your end.

You must be very experienced with the North Carolina State dissolution of marriage documents/forms and process. If you are experienced it will take little effort to complete an entire set of initial and final pleadings. Keep in mind these are very simple cases so both the initial pleadings and final documents are prepared at the same time.

You must know all pleadings and forms are required and how to complete them given the answers provided in the client questionnaire. You must require little supervision and know from North Carolina family law experience what to do and how to do it. You must be a self starter and motivated to timely complete all tasks. Unfortunately, we do not have time to train you.

We offer a flat fee per case. We pay $40 for each completed case involving no children. We pay $50 per case involving children. We will pay you upon receipt of the completed case. You will not be an employee, but rather a contractor providing case prep services.

We will work with each other via email, although we may speak via telephone as needed. The process is rather simple, we email you completed questionnaires and you return all the completed case documents to us via email. If any clarification is needed this is addressed via email as well.

If this opportunity sounds interesting to you please provide us with your phone number, name and best time to call you. Please include a brief resume or summary of your relevant experience. There is no need to provide a cover letter, etc. Simply provide enough information to demonstrate you have the pertinent and level of experience we seek.

Let us know how many cases you feel you can complete each day. When you respond use the subject ?North Carolina Telecommute Paralegal.? Failure to complete this subject line as indicated will result in your application not being processed.

* Location: Telecommute
* Compensation: $40/$50 per case
* Telecommuting is ok.
* This is a part-time job.
* This is a contract job.

Helping Your Employeer To Become More Environmentally Friendly With Telecommuting

Corporations are wrestling with the idea that employees are less efficient if they work from home. However, surveys indicate that companies that offer telecommuting enjoy improved productivity of from 7% to 20% or more. Beyond gains in productivity, each employee that works from home helps the environment in a number of ways. Obviously, the daily commute, the fuel it takes, along with the need for a pollution-spewing vehicle is the most recognizable benefit to telecommuting. One online calculator exhibits the approximate amount of emissions and gasoline that is saved through telecommuting. It’s amazing just how much the environment can be helped with more and more workers performing their daily assignments outside the office. Work From Home And Telecommuting Employees Saving Companies Millions

Managing Teleworkers and Telecommuting Strategies McKesson Medical Health Solutions has almost 800 employees, most of whom are registered nurses, who provide triage and disease management services to health insurers. Arguments for telecommuting often stress the advantages for employees of being able to work from home some or all of the time, ranging from the time they save by not having to commute to the ability it gives them to take care of errands or care for a sick child. About half of McKesson?s savings reflect the cutbacks the changes allowed it to make in office space. Since starting its work-at-home project in 2003, the company has gone from six brick-and-mortar call centers down to two, for a savings of $2 million a year. Mrs. Casey noted that cutting down on office space has eliminated not only rent and utility costs but other expenses as well, from security to coffee to copier rentals.

Content writer for Pensacola website

I’m looking for someone who is interested in a short-term project writing about Pensacola FL and the cities immediately surrounding area (on both FL and AL side). The content will be used for a small startup real estate website. I estimate needing 20 to 30 articles in total. You can write as few or as many as you like, and can do so at your own pace.

I don’t need Hemingway quality, but a little bit of knowledge of the area, a little bit of research will be required, and a little creativity & knowledge about the area will be needed to write something that will engage readers. Articles should be focused on educating an out-of-town buyer about what the area is like.

What I’m looking for:
# A ghost-writer to write a 400 to 550 word Article about each city in the greater Pensacola area

# Article should be “optimized” for “CITY real estate”, “CITY homes”, “City STATE real estate”, etc.

# Author can use creative license as far as what each article includes, but suggestions for topics include:

# History of the area

# Population statistics

# Information about what county the city is in (and mention of any other nearby cities that are in that county)

# Descriptoin of recommended neighborhoods if possible

# Commuting distance from Pensacola & from nearest airport.

# Things to do in the area, restaurants worth visiting (excluding chain restaurants)

# Reasons someone might want to live in the subject city vs. in Miami itself.

# Major employers in the city

Other details:
# I’m paying $8 per article, and will pay an additional $10 if photos are submitted in .jpg format, and I decide to use any of the photos ($18 total for each article with photos). If I don’t pay you for the photos, I won’t use them. (Upon submitting photos, Author must guarantee that photos are original material and weren’t taken from somewhere else.)
# This is a “contract for hire” job. Compensation will be paid via Paypal every Tuesday for all articles/photos that have been submitted by Monday. Payment is a one-time payment and no future royalties shall be due. (Accepting Paypal payments is very easy, and only takes a minute to set up.)

# By submitting an article, author guarantees it is original content, and won’t be found anywhere else (either on the web, or on paper), and gives full permission for content to be used as I see fit. Web sources are acceptable for gathering research, but “cutting and pasting” material from two or three different websites will not be accepted.

# Please submit writing sample if interested. If you choose to write about a city in the area as a writing sample, feel free. If I decide to accept your article, you will promptly be sent payment, and we can discuss an ongoing relationship.

Please email me with any questions.

* Location: Pensacola area
* Compensation: $8 to $18 per article
* Telecommuting is ok.
* This is a part-time job.
* This is a contract job.
* OK to highlight this job opening for persons with disabilities

Many Calling In Sick Aren’t Really Ill

A recent survey suggests that U.S. workers may need more flexible work arrangements. They are using their sick time to handle family emergencies or personal issues. While 34 percent of people who call in sick to work at the last minute do so because of illness, 66 percent are taking time for other reasons, according to the 2007 CCH Unscheduled Absence Survey. CCH says employers can reduce unplanned absences with some creativity. On a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being most effective), the work-life programs rated highest for reducing unscheduled absences are alternative work arrangements (3.6), paid leave banks (3.6), telecommuting (3.5), and compressed work week (3.3). While these programs are considered most effective, they aren’t used as widely as other programs offered by employers, such as flu shot programs or employee assistance plans.
