We need a technical/business writer for a month-long on site contract. Candidate will update/edit training documentation in the MS Word-based documentation library of an enterprise software solution. Candidate will have access to enterprise software solution prior to contract start in order to become familiar with the project.

Our client has an on-going need for such work, so this opportunity could easily become a reoccurring contract at various client sites. Details
Scheduled Contract Dates: February 18 to March 21, 2008
Projected Hours: 40 hours per week/160 hours total
Client Location: Downtown Sacramento, around I-5 and J Street. Note: All work to be performed on site. Telecommuting/off-site work is not an option.
Hourly Rate: $35 minimum
Contract Type: W-9 Independent Contractor (No Visa sponsorship, no agencies please)
Payment Terms: 30 days net

Qualifications
- Mid-level technical/business writer with 4-7 years of writing and editing experience
- Verifiable experience working on site with a variety of clients or employers
- Able to communicate with clients of various backgrounds and levels of experience, from subject matter experts to new users of enterprise software solution
- 4-7 years of experience working in MS Word
- Proven ability to self-direct, self-edit and produce work. Similar ability to work in group setting.
- Professional and effective manner that contributes to client?s goals
- Resume, portfolio, and work references to back it all up
