Work At Home Mom Victim Of Check Cashing Scam
Regular readers of this blog know that, from time-to-time, we like to report on the the scams that work at home entrepreneurs need to be aware of.
One Albany, New York, work at home mom almost became the victim of an easily recognizable, and very common, check cashing scam.
A Washington County, Sheriff’s Office Investigators say a woman had been looking online for at-home work, and found an offer with instructions to cash eight checks, worth 200 dollars each, then keep 10% of that amount and wire the rest of the money to an address in Haiti.
