Community Correspondents and Photographers

The Brentwood Media Group/Westside Today publishes six monthly magazines across the Westside: Beverly Hills 90210, Bel-Air View, Brentwood News, Santa Monica Sun, Palisades 90272 and Malibu Beach. We are gearing up to start a new title in Westwood.
We have 50,000 circulation total, we’ve been around for 16 years, you can find us at www.WestsideToday.com.
We are in the process of upgrading our editorial coverage in each of our communities. We will be adding more localized pages and will soon include more in the way of local columns, photos, news-in-brief, letters to the editor, etc.
We seek writers and photographers who:
– can actually write and/or take pictures (this isn’t a given);
– love community life and who are out and about and know lots of people;
– are organized and easy to work with;
– can send in stories and photos via e-mail;
– can come up with their own ideas for content (we’re not going to assign you stories; you are going to tell us each month what you intend to send us).
This is lots of fun for someone with a little extra time who loves to get out and about and who isn’t looking at this as his or her main way of making a living.
We pay 20 cents a word; for photos, we pay $5 for each one we use.
If you handled everything in your community, you might make $200 a month and get some credits that you can use at local restaurants worth about the same.
So this is not a get-rich-quick scheme but it’s certainly a get-to-know-your-community quickly — and well — scheme. You can be a mini-media mogul or mogulette in your home town.
If you need to make more money and are willing to consider selling ads in your community, let us know.
We seek a chief correspondent in each of our towns (Beverly Hills, Westwood/Bel-Air, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Palisades and Malibu).
