Retirement Not In The Vocabulary For Many Baby Boomers

e-Learning and the Science of Instruction: Proven Guidelines for Consumers and Designers of Multimedia Learning

Of nearly 80 million Americans born between 1946 - 1964, many have, or will soon reach the age of retirement. To those that wish to retire, we say “go for it!”

But, whether you should retire when your time comes and whether your employer should work to hold on to the potential retirees in their midst are some of this year?s big questions.

Experts predict that the majority of these baby boomers will continue to ?work” in some fashion, whether for pay, barter, or in community service to others. The reasons in include:

  • unfulfilled agendas, often stemming from their youthful dreams,
  • expectation of another 20 years of productivity,
  • possibilities of employment, filing positions left open by other retirees,
  • opportunities to achieve success in a different field,
  • personal gratification of helping others.

Now is the time to begin preparation for your second career. Talk with your current employer. Do the research to begin your own work at home business.

And, above all, have fun!
